Supporting our associates

We recognise the importance of supporting our associates who want to give something back to the community through giving their time and skills, or raising funds. So we have created a dedicated programme for them! Our Associate Programme is split into three areas:

Mars Volunteering Programme (MVP)
Our Volunteering Policy has been developed as part of the personal development process to enable associates to give their time and skills to support community initiatives.

Match Funding
Mars is committed to supporting its associates in their fund raising activities, and will therefore, from a capped budget, match fund money raised pound for pound up to £100 per associate, per year. Associates can apply via an application, which is available on MPower.

Product Requests
The only exception to the local programme support will be for applications from Associates for product only. Associates who are personally and actively involved in a cause can apply for product (via an application form, available on MPower). In this instance the local programme eligibility criteria may be relaxed.

Payroll Giving
Mars operates a Give as you Earn scheme so that associates can choose to donate to a charity of their choice direct from their pay, tax-free.

Local Programme
Associates who are personally involved in a cause, e.g. PTA member, governor, etc., may apply for support, on behalf of that cause. Support is requested via the Mars in the Community online application and eligibility is based upon the same criteria as external applicants.
