Prize for perfect partnership

October 2012

Mars in the community and their partnership with Berkshire East and South Buck’s women’s Aid won the corporate community local involvement award at the 2012 Charity Times award dinner in London. Corporate Affairs held the table at the awards which celebrate leadership and professionalism in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. The award recognises the active involvement of a commercial company with a charitable project in its locality that has had a positive impact on the community. “Many associates have volunteered with Women’s Aid through Mars in the Community, including the Pop-up Shop in Maidenhead earlier this year,” said Anita Herbert. “Roisin Pope and I took Nina Dohil, Hussein Hassam and John Maguire to the awards. “The organisers announced our partnership as outstanding with clear benefits and shared skills on both sides. We were all absolutely thrilled.”
