Mars Chocolate ended its month long Volunteering focus month with a Celebration at Cippenham Junior School last week.
The event was held for beneficiaries of Mars' support during the focus month as well as an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Mars Associates and Charities to the local community.
Beneficiaries were presented with a certificate acknowledging the Mars contribution.
The event was a chance for Mars Associates to meet with the people who have benefited from their volunteer work and see the difference that has been made.
Also present at the celebration were Fiona Dawson, MD of Mars Chocolate UK and Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough.
Anita Herbert, leader of the Mars Volunteer Scheme said: "I am delighted with the results of our volunteer focus month. We have had over 500 employees volunteer so far this year and some great projects have been supported along the way. This celebration event also highlighted the great work that local organizations do in our local community each and every day."
Mars Associates participated in a volunteer focus month and carried out a series of community activities to support organisations in the local area. So far 45% of Mars Chocolate Associates working in Slough have taken in part in a volunteering activity in 2010.
