Mars associates visit St Luke’s School in Maidenhead to start work on a new sensory garden
A team of Engineers from Mars in Slough spent time at St Luke’s primary school on Monday 13th June helping update the school’s sensory garden with new plants and railway sleepers.
The team was out as part of the Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP) focus month that runs for the whole of June. The focus month aims to raise awareness of the programme and give employees the opportunity to give back to the local community and to participate during a focused timeframe.
The overall Mars in the Community programme is an integral part of Mars’ business strategy. MVP is one part of this programme, which provides opportunities for employees to reflect the values and principles of Mars, inspiring them to give back to local causes and gain a sense of pride for our business and the communities, which it supports.
Jenny Sillitto from Mars commented: ‘It was a great day, the whole team enjoyed getting outside and helping the school. We are really proud to part of this worthwhile project.’
Sarah Du Preez, Extended School Officer at St Luke’s commented: ‘A big thank you to you and all your colleagues for the fantastic work you did on Monday in the Sensory Garden here at St.Luke's School. We really appreciate all the hard work and effort you put in to get this project underway. We now hope to complete the project over the next few weekends.’
