Terms and Conditions

Your request for funding has been awarded on the basis of the information provided in your application and is subject to Mars UK standard terms and conditions for the grant of charitable donations under the Scheme.

Conditions attached to all funding offers

  • Organisations to submit a Budget plan of how they will spend the money

    If you are applying for funding in excess of £300, please submit a budget plan in support of your application. This budget plan should contain estimates for all equipment and activities you are requesting the funding for. You will need to ensure that your budget is realistic and that the costings are as accurate as possible. If you are applying for funding to host an event, you must provide a breakdown of the event budget, including details of all anticipated expenditure [and income] for the event.

    NB Requests for below £300 - do not need T&C as above.

  • Feedback (including testimonials/photographs)

    How will you measure success

    All recipients of funds are required to submit a brief feedback report which evaluates the success of the project/activity based on its objectives and assesses the difference that the funding has made to the benefiting charity / organisation / group.  Where possible we also require photographs of, and testimonials in relation to, the project & activities. This feedback report (and any photographs & testimonials provided) will be used by Mars UK to promote the community based initiatives that it supports. The feedback report must arrive no later than 60 days post completion of the project/activity and should be sent to Mars UK at Dundee Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 4JX. In addition, recipients may be required to provide Mars UK with regular progress reports, at intervals and containing such information, as Mars UK may reasonably require.  [A failure to provide any such final feedback and/or progress report shall entitle Mars UK to reclaim any funds already provided and Mars UK shall not be obliged to provide any further funding for this or any future project/activity.

  • Use of Mars UK logo in promotional materials

    Will the activity be promoted, if so how?

    Mars UK funding should be acknowledged (and in particular the Mars UK logo, which will be supplied by Mars UK on request, should be displayed) in any publicity materials and other documentation relating to the funded project/activity (including any annual report prepared for the organisation).  How an organisation is expected to do this must be agreed in advance with Mars UK.  The Mars UK logo and any other material provided by Mars UK for publicity material must be used as supplied and must not be altered in any way without Mars UK prior written consent.

    In accepting funding from Mars UK an organisation agrees to Mars UK referring to the name of the organisation and project/activity and using any materials provided by the organisation as part of any feedback/progress report (including but not limited to photographs), in Mars UK own publicity materials and on its website.  In instances where confidentiality is a particular issue the recipient organisation will advise Mars UK of this when accepting the funding.  The organisation will be responsible for ensuring that any materials provided to Mars UK may legally be used by Mars UK in its own publicity materials and on its website (including obtaining any necessary licences, permissions or written consents to use of photographs.

  • Funding Use

    The funding provided should only be used for the purpose(s) given in your application form, unless we have agreed a change of use with you in writing. We reserve the right to reclaim any unused funds or funds not used for the purpose(s) indicated in your application form.

    Unless otherwise agreed with Mars UK in writing, where the funding (or any part of it) has not been utilised for the purpose(s) stated on your application form, by the date which is 3 months after the date of receipt of such funding from Mars UK, you must return such unused funding to Mars UK at Dundee Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 4JX. Unless otherwise agreed with Mars UK, funding should be returned in the form of a cheque made payable to Mars UK.  This will not prevent you reapplying for funding for your project/activity although acceptance of such application will be at Mars UK sole discretion.
